In this series Julia uses the mirror which symbolises the fragility of the soul and emotional balance, the search for self and the changing nature of identity. She also uses ‘candy’ shades of resin to show how cosy and easy it was in childhood. At that time, an armful of colourful lollipops and candyfloss on a stick was enough for happiness. These bright, juicy colours symbolise the desire to ‘paint’ reality, to fill it with playfulness, to add joy and spontaneity. In addition, the resin layer on the mirrored surface acts as a kind of armour, protecting it from vulnerability - just as children's perception is protected from the complexities of the adult world.
The project ‘Let's Escape to Childhood’ is a call to the viewer to regain contact with his or her inner child. It is especially important for those who are going through a difficult period in life, who feel the weight of routine or emotional burnout. These works offer an opportunity to briefly return to childhood - light, bright, carefree. They remind us that even in adulthood one can and should find light and joy, not to let oneself drown forever in the greyness of everyday life.

Julia is a self-taught abstract artist and photographer celebrated for her innovative and emotionally resonant works. She combines texture pastes, acrylics, and hand-cut mirrors with the vibrant depth of epoxy resin to craft mesmerizing pieces that explore the intersection of the tangible and the reflective. Her practice also extends to creating vivid and dynamic abstract artworks using acrylic paints and digital mediums.
Julia's creative journey took a significant turn in 2019 when she moved to the Kaliningrad region. The stunning natural landscapes and proximity to the Baltic Sea deepened her connection to photography and art.
