Julia Hacker
Through my paintings of the beauty of flowers,I am able to preserve their essence and keep them from fading away.
Julia Hacker is a Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist. She is working in a variety of traditional and mixed mediums, including oil, acrylic paint, handmade collage, and illustration. Hacker is an Elected Member of the Canadian Society of Artists and a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Her artworks are in private collections in Canada, the USA, and Europe.
Julia Hacker's art and her life are intertwined. She desires to learn how to live in the moment, and to search for awareness. The artist draws inspiration from the immediate world around, rhythmic changes in nature, close encounters with the vagaries of human emotion. While creating, the artist is thinking about the detached creative destruction in mother nature, knowing that eventually, it will bring to new growth.

I love to take a familiar subject and meditate on it, stripping it to the pure essence. It is like a distant memory of a long forgotten trip, when all details get blurred, living just a scent, a colour, sensation of your experience.
