Jove Wang

Jove Wang is a contemporary Chinese painter based in the USA. His artistic journey began at the age of seven when he apprenticed with the esteemed master painter Gang Gu. Wang's early dedication to art led him to study at the Jilin School of Art for three years, culminating in his graduation in 1982. His pursuit of excellence took him to the prestigious Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts (now known as the China Academy of Art), where he graduated with honors in 1988. In his quest for artistic mastery, Wang also received professional training from the Tokyo Academy of Fine Arts.

In 1990, Wang immigrated to the United States, where he swiftly gained recognition and acclaim. Immersing himself in the study and exploration of the old Masters, he honed his craft and established a distinguished career.

Wang's talent has been acknowledged through numerous awards and accolades. Among his notable achievements are Best of Show at the California Art Club’s 88th Annual Gold Medal Juried Exhibition in 1997, First Place in the figure category at the California Art Club’s 89th Annual Gold Medal Juried Exhibition in 1998, and Best of Show at the 8th Annual National Juried Exhibition of Oil Painters of America in 1999.

Throughout his career, Wang has continued to receive acclaim, with awards such as First Place at the prestigious Viewpoint 2000 Cincinnati Art Club Exhibition and multiple recognitions at the Carmel Art Festival. Notably, he was awarded the Gold Medal Award by the Japan Artist Association at the Tokyo National Museum in 2008.

In more recent years, Wang's talent continues to shine, with honors including Best of Show and Artists Choice awards at the American Impressionist Society’s competitions in 2021. He became an LPAPA Signature Member in June 2022 and held a successful one-man show titled "The Great American West" at LPAPA in November of the same year. Another one-man show titled "American Western Art" is slated to be held at the American Legacy Fine Arts gallery in November.
