Josica AVENA grew up and lived in Corsica until the age of 20, then, after fast secondary studies, her globe-trotting soul took her for a few years to other horizons, to the meeting and discovering the "Other"; finally, it was after several stays in India that she discovered "Her Way". It is in the continuity of a long spiritual journey centered on the search for an awakening of consciousness and authenticity - both arising from an intuition that she is still trying to tame - that this Corsican artist has seized the opportunity, at the very beginning of 2018, to express himself through painting.
Self-taught, initially influenced and inspired by artists such as J.REIGL, H.HARTUNG, J. POLLOCK, or P. SOULAGE among others, his gesture is intuitive and adapted to the creation of abstract works where black dominates. The paintings follow one another and reveal the torments and the bright spots in the life of this resilient neophyte who made art a real therapy.
