Jonas Kunickas is a contemporary Lithuanian artist. With the human figure as his main topic, he investigates how light is used and how bodies are perceived, resulting in a general aesthetic that is characterized by shape and shadow.
He experimented with and independently researched a wide range of painting techniques in order to develop his own style and method. He no longer uses brushes for his oil paintings; instead, he has settled on using an oil paint and a pallet knife.
