The bare bones of my photographic experience during the moment of being stopped is nothing more than how you would react at the sight of a new born baby. It is a moment that is simple yet deeply appreciated. It is a kind of magic. The quality about "that" which has been seen is sudden and direct. We all possess this ability to see a moment and become completely carried away by the intensity of emotion. These moments are not as rare as we may think, nor are they experienced by a selected few. That new born baby, that fluffy white cloud that moves silently in the sky, that shadow, that light hitting the side of a wall, that line, that colour of rust that poetically speaks a language all of it's own, all possess a certain quality. It is a "suchness" quality. For each thing that stops me there is a heartfelt connection and recognition of that "suchness" or "Alchemy" that exists regardless of what the label is. Oddly enough, the world is filled with uniqueness everywhere. Perceptions are endless and unlimited.
There are many people, places and things that inspire me. Women who speak their truths and share their wisdom, are certainly at the top of my list. Creative people, family, the great masters of photography, poets and spiritual leaders that practice true compassion are among the many that inspire me as well. Places of inspiration can be nearly any place. My love for travel has often opened new doors to discovery and mystery therefore allowing me to use these experiences in my work to create a more deeper and meaningful message.
My photographic style is deeply influenced by Miksang Principles, which I have studied for the past 5 years and still greatly inspired by. Miksang has been more than just photography, it opened my eyes to seeing and appreciating regardless of whether I have a camera with me or not. In 1999 I began exploring other elements of creativity that intuitively spoke through poetry and prose. Since then I have exhibited using words to enhance my style and connect on a more profound level. The direction of my work continues to expand as I remain open to new thoughts and ideas that encourage creative expression, either through words or other mediums. As I move forward to explore these ideas I realize new discoveries about who I am. I now see that I am more than just a photographic artist. I am an artist that welcomes transformation with a beginners mind.

Namaste,
