The first piece of art has the calligraphy note “Kachou Fuugetsu” (花鳥風月) — a Japanese phrase meaning "flowers, birds, wind, and moon." It reflects the philosophy of discovering one’s true self through the appreciation of nature's ephemeral beauty.
On the second piece of art it’s written “Omotenashi” (おもてなし) — the spirit of sincere Japanese hospitality.
