My love for art started as a child drawing constantly and taking a lot of inspiration from the impressionist artist such as Paul Cezan and Van Gogh.
I first sold a painting in school to a teacher, which inspired me to pursue more talent. I led a carefree life where I travelled all over the world where my budgets and interest took me. However, things took a turn when I crashed my motorcycle, violently severing nerves accompanied by a several bone fractures. I was bedridden for months and spent so much time in isolation and I began dreaming of bigger things for my art career.
I focused my interest towards abstract art for provoking people and to break away from the colonial traditional structures that we used to call art. My mindset was driven to produce beautiful, unique pieces that I created over lengthy periods and to add layers and details. The paintings up close are refined in detail at least I think so. I apply numerous techniques using palette knives, brushes, sponges and anything with a unique profile.
My plans for an unforeseeable future are to create grandeur and awe-inspiring abstract pieces that change the feel in a room or setting on an enormous scale. I believe that abstract is beautiful, and it is the way forward as the days of colonial style paintings are over and provocative abstracts reveal class, elegance and style whilst never forgetting our roots and the provocative artists that gave us impressionism.
