Jeff Iverson
My work is a synthesis of the intricate, chaotic, and unpredictable; it is a journey through the vivid landscapes of digital media, colorful abstracts, complex fractal manipulations, and digital photography. Although primarily digital, I occasionally venture into the tactile world of traditional media, using acrylic on various supports. I weave shapes, colors, and textures into a narrative that strives to transcend the individual elements and reach something greater than the sum of its parts.
In choosing my subject matter, I gravitate toward non-objective pure abstracts and delve into expressionism, minimalism, and pure color fields. My work often reflects a playful, colorful, and childlike spirit. I explore the dynamic relationships between organic forms, crisp edges, and vivid colors, creating visual stories that evoke curiosity and wonder.
What draws me to a particular scene is the perpetual struggle between the 'thinking' and 'feeling' parts of the mind, each vying for dominance over time. Through my art, I endeavor to appeal to both, touching on themes that range from the mystical to the mundane, from the esoteric to the vulgar, and from the philosophical to the whimsical.
I was born in Waterloo, Iowa, and grew up in its surrounding communities. My academic journey in Art led me to the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. My life has been deeply influenced by the landscapes and communities of the upper Midwest, including Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Illinois. Currently, I reside in Springfield, West Central Illinois, where I continue to find inspiration in the world around me.
I invite viewers to experience the unique fusion of visual elements that define my work. Through a blend of digital mastery and traditional expressions, my art creates a captivating dialogue between form and color, inviting viewers to engage with the chaos and complexity that characterize our world.

Spiral of Euphoria
Spiral of Euphoria is my latest artistic adventure, a vibrant testament to the boundless energy of color and form. In this abstract painting, swirling strokes of dynamic intensity envelop you, inviting you to embark on a journey through a mesmerizing spiral alive with motion and emotion.
Within this creation, I set the stage with a rich tapestry of red, gold, and white—a trio of colors that dance upon the canvas with both force and grace. These hues collide and weave together, forging a spiral pattern that pulses with life, as if an unseen force propels them in a powerful, perpetual dance. The brushstrokes vary, marrying smooth elegance with textured vibrancy, each element contributing to the depth and dimension that beckons the viewer closer.
Inspiration for Spiral of Euphoria sprouted from a yearning to translate raw emotion into a visual symphony. I wanted to capture a moment of blissful energy, an exploration of joy that sparks the spirit within. The idea was to create an artwork that not only captures movement but also evokes a sense of emotional exhilaration—a celebration of life in its most dynamic form.
The creation of Spiral of Euphoria was a unique and transformative process. I allowed myself to surrender to the flow of creativity, letting the colors and brushstrokes follow their own path, unfurling the vision held in my mind. This approach was both liberating and challenging, requiring trust in the spontaneous journey of each stroke, melding intention with serendipity. As the spiral pattern began to emerge, it felt like uncovering a hidden tale spun in brilliant hues.
In presenting Spiral of Euphoria, my hope is to ignite a spark within you, to invite you to experience the joy encapsulated within this whirlwind of color and form. Step into its rhythm, let the movement guide you, and allow the paint's vibrancy to awaken your senses. Feel the euphoria that swells within its swirling patterns, and perhaps discover your own narrative within the depths of its dazzling spiral.
New Work: 4295
Creating "4295" was a remarkable exploration into the symphony of color and motion, a vivid expression that dances across the canvas in vertical drips and splashes of blue, orange, and white. As I delved into this piece, I sought to capture not only the visual impact but also the underlying movement and energy that these colors embody when set in fluid motion.
"4295" unfolds with cascades of color that seem to flow and merge on their own, generating a dynamic interplay between the warm, fiery hues of orange and the cooler, serene shades of blue. This clash and harmony of colors create a visual tension that is both striking and soothing, inviting the viewer to engage with the pulsating rhythm of the artwork. The vertical drips draw the eye downward, reminiscent of something organic and alive, akin to streams of color flowing through an abstract universe.
The distinctive process of creating "4295" was rooted in spontaneity. I embraced a sense of freedom, allowing the colors to dictate their path and interact naturally. This methodology—an intersection of control and release—fostered an environment where experimentations blossomed, resulting in unexpected textures and patterns that imbue the piece with a sense of vitality.
My inspiration was fueled by the complexities of natural fluidity and the chaotic beauty found within it. Through "4295," I wanted to translate this ever-changing dynamic onto canvas, offering not just a visual experience but an emotional one that resonates deeply. It's an invitation for the audience to explore their own interpretations and feelings in response to the movement and balance within the piece, engaging with the artwork beyond its physical form.
Ultimately, "4295" is an endeavor to transcend the boundary between chaos and order, inviting viewers into a vibrant journey through layers of color and motion. By surrendering to the flow, embracing unpredictability, and crafting a tapestry full of life and transformation, I seek to connect with those who encounter this piece in a meaningful, personal way. Let yourself be enveloped by the kinetic energy and intricate dance captured within "4295," and discover the myriad stories these vibrant shades have to tell.
New Work: 4294
Diving into the realm of abstract artistry, I'm exhilarated to present my latest work, "4294." At its core, this piece articulates a vivid narrative through a bold juxtaposition of oranges and blues that is both a visual feast and a thought-provoking experience for any viewer who encounters it.
The composition is dominated by dynamic splashes and drips of a fiery orange hue, expertly layered against a sumptuous blue backdrop. This bold, energetic symphony plays out in a symmetrical burst pattern, creating an impression of kinetic motion captured within the stillness of the canvas. Interspersed throughout this electric dance are elements of lighter blue and white, which weave through the composition, adding dimension and an inviting depth that beckons you to venture beyond the surface.
What sets "4294" apart is its ability to evoke a sense of explosive fluidity and dynamic balance. The stark contrast between the vibrant orange and the deep blue not only draws the eye but also sparks a visual dialogue of movement and emotion. This interaction is further accentuated by strategic accents of white and lighter blue, blurring the lines between the defined and the implied, the controlled and the free-flowing.
The creation of "4294" was as spontaneous as it was methodical, rooted in a desire to embrace and explore the unpredictable. My process was guided by a profound respect for the natural behavior of paint—the way it spreads, collides, and settles. This approach allowed for moments of unexpected beauty to emerge, transforming each drip and splash into a meditative exploration of art's organic and ever-evolving nature.
In "4294," I aim to push the boundaries of how abstract forms and colors can converse on canvas. My intent is for this artwork to be a living entity—a vibrant, ever-changing conversation between the viewer and the artwork. As such, it invites you to delve into a world where motion, color, and space entwine, offering a platform for personal reflection and interpretation.
Engaging with "4294" means stepping into a space where the boundaries of static visual art dissolve, giving way to a more immersive experience. Allow this piece to challenge your perceptions, stimulate your imagination, and invite you to participate in the perpetual dance of form and color.
