Jean-Louis Silvestri, born in 1970, is a self-taught French artist who lives and works in France. Specializing in drawing and painting, he masters a variety of techniques, including pastel on paper, acrylic on linen, and graphite on paper. His style oscillates between realism, impressionism, and hyperrealism, reflecting a rich and nuanced artistic sensibility.
After a break of about fifteen years, Jean-Louis resumed his artistic activity in 2018 with renewed enthusiasm. His love for portraiture, which requires great rigor, is at the heart of his work, but he also turns to landscapes, first exploring pastels and then oil painting to find more freedom in the execution of his drawings.
Drawn to the explosion of colors, he recently immersed himself in a reproduction of a Monet depicting Venice, immersing himself in bright and joyful hues, an experience he describes as pure bliss. Always seeking new forms of expression, Jean-Louis plans to take up watercolor in 2024, adding a new dimension to his already diverse artistic journey.
