Comme toutes mes œuvres celle-ci est issue de la subtile alchimie tripartite entre la matière, le peintre, en l’occurrence moi, et mon subconscient. Mes œuvres sont libres de pensées. L’histoire est bien là, il peut y en avoir plusieurs d’ailleurs… A chacun de s’approprier la sienne !
Un coin de ciel bleu, une luminosité dorée entremêlée de reflets rouges, des rayons du soleil levant qui viennent caresser la nature, la ramenant lentement à la vie comme enveloppée dans la douce chaleur de ses bras. Les rayons du soleil se reflétant dans un marécage à l’orée du bois, des étendues d’eau passant du bleu au vert puis au jaune illuminent ce tableau.

Each of his paintings offers different degrees of observation hence the need to accustom your eye or rather your mind for a multi-level approach.
From look to look, from different angles or even different lighting ambiances, his paintings are as if alive and are revealed through these observations... Scenettes, silhouettes, faces, parts of faces and many others... Curves, shadows, imprints, juxtaposition of several spaces which fit together and thus give you access to other dimensions... Not always perceptible at first glance...
Jean-Louis Capou thus leaves his work free from any interpretation. His painting tells a series of intertwining stories. It’s up to everyone to make their own!
