Jean lives and works in France in the north of Alsace, his native region, after having lived in Paris and Strasbourg.

As a teenager, he was fascinated by Roy Lichtenstein and printing techniques, by Andy Wahrol for his criticism of consumer society but also by the lights and subjects of the works of Edward Hopper, by Helmut Newton for the strength of his subjects. and its framing. By the work of the Bauhaus, for artistic crafts such as stained glass and ceramics. More recently by the sculptures of Aron Demetz and his wooden humanoids, by Albeniz Rodriguez for the caricature aspect of his characters and his mastery of depth of field, Nina K. Jurk for the strength of his landscapes or even Claire Tabouret for its synthetic fur supports. Jean-François chose a training in design for the multidisciplinarity of this universe. He likes the functional aspect of objects associated with the meanings that can be given to their shapes and volumes, their materials, their touch. The artist uses the first 3D modeling software first on UNIX workstations then on PC.

He is interested in graphic design, publishing and traditional printing techniques. Since 1994, Jean-François has been involved in the world of digital and interactive applications, CD-Rom, Web and Apps. He has a holistic vision of design (global design and design thinking).

The artist creates a collection of textile graphics intended for online sale via a Print on Demand platform.

In 2020 he is turning resolutely towards graphic arts, drawing and traditional painting but especially digital works. He created a first collection of black and white drawings on the theme of a loving couple, then abstract and very colorful works.
