Jasinski chose his name as a painter in homage to the father of his wife, Lieutenant-Colonel of the Polish army Stanislaw JASINSKI, prisoner in Pawiak then interned in the Auschwitz camp.
He escaped on June 24, 1944 and took part in the Warsaw uprising in August 1944.
