Jacques Hauet (Jordan Ravy) est né en 1963 et a grandi à Saint-Quentin en Picardie. Son père est métallurgiste et sa mère est couturière. Il devient lui-même métallurgiste. Dessinateur autodidacte, il s'oriente en parallèle de sa vie professionnelle vers un monde artistique lié à la peinture. Après sa rencontre avec le peintre espagnol Jacinto del Caso, Jacques Hauet décide de suivre des cours de peinture dans une école privée où il obtient son diplôme de peintre décorateur et trompé-l'œil. Progressivement, il abandonne la peinture figurative et comprend qu'un espace plus vaste se situe dans la non figuration. La lecture du manifeste de l'art concret conforte sa vision. Depuis 1989 Jordan Ravy vit et travaille à Nice.
