Jacques Straesslé is a professional photographer who works in the studio for clients and agencies in various national and international business sectors. Since 1977, he has produced portraits for the Montreux Jazz Festival. His portfolio includes the biggest names in jazz, rock, Latin music and world music.

Its aim is to take a precise and attentive look at musicians suddenly stripped of the brilliance of the stage. They are brought together in an anthological and timeless vision. He always works with the same uniform gray background, and two small adhesive tapes on the ground, to mark the location of the feet. The hunted artist, flushed out from the back of his dressing room or kidnapped on leaving the stage, still drunk with bravos, finds himself there, alone and vulnerable, facing his camera.

Jacques Straesslé is from Switzerland and a member of the Swiss Professional Photographers. He has been living in Lausanne since 1977. He has participated in numerous exhibitions: Museum of Modern Art (Paris) in 1983, Nikon Gallery (Zurich) in 1988… His work has been rewarded with numerous prizes: Bally Prize (1980) , Nikon Prize (1984), Jazz Jamboree Warsaw Prize (1987)... and it has been the subject of numerous publications (Musée de Nuit. Editions Pierre d'o, Bateaux Fantômes in 2020, etc.)
