New Series Completed: “Graphite on Paper”
I'm excited to announce that my second series, Graphite on Paper, is now complete and available to explore. This body of work is a return to the essential—raw graphite, white paper, and the human figure. Each portrait in the series is an intimate study of expression, aging, and silence, rendered with subtle tonal variations and intentional restraint.
The drawings reflect a quiet intensity, focusing on character rather than likeness. With minimal tools and a meditative process, I sought to capture not just the features, but the presence of each subject. The series is a tribute to the timeless power of pencil on paper.
You can view the entire Graphite on Paper collection now on my Artmajeur gallery.
News: New Series Completed – "Ink on Paper" Now Available
I’m pleased to announce the completion of my latest series: “Ink on Paper” — a collection of six original portraits drawn in ink on paper.
Each drawing is a study in contrasts: fragility and strength, silence and presence. With nothing but ink and raw impulse, I set out to capture fleeting expressions, not of individuals, but of human emotion itself—distilled, imperfect, and honest.
👉 You can now view the entire series in my Artmajeur gallery.
💬 I would love to hear your thoughts—please feel free to leave a comment on the works that resonate with you. Feedback and impressions are incredibly valuable to me as an artist.
Also, don’t forget to follow my Artmajeur page so you don’t miss future releases or behind-the-scenes insights.
Thank you for your continued support,
— J. Gambande
New ink portraits on paper now available
I'm happy to share that I've just published three new pieces from my ongoing ink on paper series. These portraits are raw, intimate, and stripped down to the essential gesture. I use the line not to describe, but to provoke—inviting the viewer to step into a moment suspended between silence and tension.
All three original works are available, and you can also purchase high-quality prints or request digital licensing.
Check them out on my gallery page and let me know what you feel.
