The artist was born in 1925 and works in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
Member of the Union of Bulgaria artists since 1960. Works mainly in oil and acrylic. Favorite themes are still life, seascape, portrait, landscape, composition etc. Ivan Popovski features several private exhibitions in local and international galleries and a grand retrospective exhibition in 2001. He takes part in most common national and regional exhibitions. Some of his works are in private collections France, Norway, Greece, Australia, USA, Spain and other countries.
In summer 2006 second grand retrospective exhibition consisting of more than 120 works was so successful, that the initial planned term of 1 month was prolonged with 1 month more by the city's official gallery. Many paintings were bought by collectors from Canada, Germany, USA, Hungary etc.
Summers passed in artist's son home in Spain in 2005 and 2006 and the beauty of Spanish coast brought inspiration for the favorite seascapes themes.
