Artista plástico nacido en 1956 en la República de Gambia, pequeño país del África Occidental, que se extiende a ambas orillas del río Gambia.
De formación autodidacta, como muchísimos pintores/as de Africa Subsahariana, comienzo a interesarme por el dibujo desde mi primera infancia, y orientado por mi madre, me inicio en la reproducción de la figura humana.
Este interés, lejos de desaparecer con la edad lo desarrollé más y creció rápidamente, superando los prejuicios, contratiempos y dificultades culturales, sociales y económicas propias del entorno de las clases populares gambianas, hasta la actualidad.
A lo largo de mi vida, he ido combinando diferentes actividades laborales (mozo de carga, electricista, recepcionista de hotel, discjockey, taxista, y encofrador), con la creación artística.
Durante la década de los años 90 y hasta instalarme en España, he realizado murales de gran formato para decorar discotecas y hoteles, telas para coleccionistas africanos/as residentes en Holanda, Inglaterra, Alemania y USA. Pintura publicitaria en comercios, logotipos para instituciones…etc.
Realizo una función social, en colaboración con otros pintores gambianos, en diseños educativos para campañas de pedagogía social sobre temas comunitarios, como la deforestación de bosques.
En 2003 voy a vivir a Barcelona y desde entonces decido dedicarme profesionalmente a la pintura. En esta ciudad participo en el taller de “Gravats“ dirigido por el maestro de Artes Gráficas Fernando Odriozola.
Desde mi llegada a este país he realizado varias exposiciones, como un referente cultural del África Negra.
Desde 2007 vivo en Badarán, un pueblecito de La Rioja.
