World Side Landscape Project is my new and recent my digital art project series.
In these works, using digital image collage techniques and collage of physical images from various materials such as newspapers, magazines and others are digitized.
Then by combining it with a touch of the digital painting style that I have developed, I present it in its entirety in a digital composition with the intention of extracting, elevating and recording, deconstructing, subjectively reassessing the sides of world cities or interesting places around the world that marked by natural or man-made landmarks, sites, monuments and other points of interest.
And in it, I want to elevate, record communal memories, reveal new nostalgia for them and re-represent places that we recognize in a different dimension and aura and taste. I try to describe my own subjective value in it, a value that contains elements of awe, hope for the future, inspirational as well as worry that is implied in the landscape that I composed.

Biography
Hilman Hendarsyah is a contemporary artist from Indonesia, born on May 25th in Bandung. In the early 2000s, he studied printmaking at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Faculty of Fine Art and Design. Currently, he resides and works as a visual artist in Bandung.
Hendarsyah is known for his broad artistic approach, continually exploring new techniques and mediums. He is dedicated to developing various themes and techniques in his artwork, driven by his passion and capabilities. His work addresses a wide range of subjects, reflecting on past, present, and future human experiences, our coexistence with nature and other living beings, and significant contemporary issues like information technology and science.
Through his dynamic and evolving body of work, Hilman Hendarsyah continues to make a notable impact on the contemporary art scene, engaging audiences with his insightful and diverse artistic expressions.

Hilman Hendarsyah's solo exhibition entitled Ommatidia, presents various images of various types of insects interacting with humans on his canvases. Still a work that emphasizes black and white nuances, this time combined with bright and strong colors. Hilman is known for his black-and-white works depicting various animal gestures such as mice, cats, fish, birds and animals that appear strange, from an anthropocene perspective or looking at the influence of human actions on the natural surroundings, depicted with a gloomy nuance, surreal, dramatic.
According to Hilman, taken from several sources, the term Ommatidia (plural) refers to a group of combined vision or compound eyes in arthropods such as insects, crustaceans and millipedes. Ommatidia are a combination of single units of light receivers or receptors which are usually referred to as ommatidium (single) which are arranged into one large unit whose number can reach up to 20,000 units.
And related to the exhibition context of the existing works, the term Ommatidia is intended as a symbolization and/or representation of "the way of looking at, observing, understanding, assessing the insect race".
In this exhibition, apart from paintings on canvas, Hilman also made a storyless art book whose pages contain black-and-white exploration drawings with the title "Innersects" which were printed in limited quantities. In volume 1 of this book with 108 picture pages, he presents the subject of a series of relationships between insects and humans which tend to be gloomy.
Hilman Hendarsyah was born in Bandung in 1980, studied graphic arts, FSRD – ITB @fsrd_itb from 2000 to 2005. He had a solo exhibition previously in 2018 at Semata Gallery, Bandung. 2013: Dia.Loe.Gue Artspace, Jakarta, and 2009 at Elcanna Fine Art, Jakarta.
