My name Is Hélène Stevens, I am Begian.

I am of the family of well known painters; Alfred and Joseph Stevens, painters of the late 19th century.

In Brussels, I went in an art school, who was leading me to a teaching diploma of art. At the end of my studies I went to New York, to the prestigious school of Fine Arts, the Art Student League (from 1961 to 1963. )

I have been living in France since 1989.

The approach linked to my work was born with the discovery of a paper, “Nepalese paper”

My artistic approach consists of a first work of research, of photographs. And from the subject, the tree, I see further. Under my hand, the nature I have captured is transformed into fabulous beings, fantastic characters.

Trees are my subject

I am bewitched by nature, by spirits, by light, by colors ; evolving in nature with the seasons.. By producing oxygen trees are indispensable for human life.

It this that I am drawing, bringing trees to life, and revive them by giving them a place in the pantheon of art and life, by returning to the origins, by letting them express themselves under my fingers. I try to remind you that trees exist, in all forms, and the are so much hope for future generations.

Watch how beautiful the trees are!

I hope I will guide you through the plant and artistic world, an imaginary world born under my fingers, under my hands.

Please let yourself go and, take my hand.

Together everything is so much better.

.

My work done on Nepalese paper is at the heart of the realization of works sublimated by my imagination.

I try to let you  perceive all my passion. I feel young and is always surprised each time that the chemistry works, between the photographs, the paper and my imagination.
