The original photo print under acrylic glass consists of multiple components. The photo print is mounted under 1/16 inch (2 mm) of acrylic glass, backed with 1/8 inch (3 mm) of aluminum dibond (made of two aluminum layers and a polyethylene core) and sealed with elastic silicone. A 0,98 inch (25 mm) black glazed aluminium frame turns the photo into a sculptural object. A small gap between the picture and the aluminum frame makes the image appear to be floating like a turntable in a plinth.

Each original Vinylography is created by consciously photographing legendary vinyl records on selected turntables. For the high-quality images, I use only original turntables - from the late 40s to the present day. The vinyl records in my private collection were acquired from the countries of origin such as the USA, UK, Australia and Europe, depending on the artist or band, and are original releases.

Für dieses Werk der Vinylography wird ein echter Fotoabzug mittels modernster Lasertechnik ausbelichtet und klassisch entwickelt. Dann wird er unter Acrylglas kaschiert und rückseitig von einer Alu-Dibond Rückwand stabilisiert. Abschließend wird er mit dauerelastischem Silikon versiegelt.

Um aus jedem Werk der Edition Masterpiece ein skulpturales Galerie-Objekt zu machen, wird das fertige Bild mit einem Schattenfugenrahmen aus satiniertem Aluminium eingefasst. Da Bild und Rahmen durch die Fuge optisch voneinander getrennt sind, entsteht ein schwebender Effekt, der der Lagerung des Plattenspieler-Chassis in einer Zarge nachempfunden ist.

Jede Original Vinylography entsteht durch die bewusste Inszenierung legendärer Schallplatten auf ausgewählten Plattenspielern und ihre hochwertige fotografische Darstellung. Dabei greife ich ausschließlich auf Original Plattenspieler zurück – von den späten 40er Jahren bis zur heutigen Zeit. Die Vinyl-Schallplatten meiner privaten Sammlung stammen je nach Interpret und Band neben dem Jahr der Erstveröffentlichung auch aus den Ursprungsländern wie den USA, UK, Australien und Europa.
