Gérard Capron came to painting through a series of encounters which gradually guided him towards a personal approach. Later, he enriched his training by attending classes at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Rouen.
Nourished by his travels he was able to make, he brings into his painting elements nourished by his peregrinations. Revisited by his memory and his own imagination. But it is, above all, in the human figure that he actually seems to have found his most recurring subject. He was also interested in the third dimension, which he was able to experience through sculpture.
If he tends to move away from conventional figuration, he cannot help evoking the human presence. He needs some air between two series of paintings. What interests him is the pleasure of adventure and the need to go towards new things.
Gérard Capron lives and works in Duclair (France). He has participated in numerous exhibitions: Art Paris and Luxembourg in 2022, Art3f Lyon in 2019…. His work is present in many private collections.
