Georgii was born in 1986, in Saint Petersburg. After visual and literary studies, he decided to focus on documentary photography. He photographs cities, society, ruined dreams. His author's work, halfway between fixed images and moving images, influenced by his university studies in photography and then in cinema, seeks to capture the fiction of the urban environment. While exhibiting regularly in France and abroad, he carries out various photographic commissions.
It was later that he discovered the use of old photographic processes (cyanotype, van Dyke, Kallitypie, pinhole...). This completely changes his vision of the profession of artist: by "making" these photographs he realizes that he combines in himself his part artist and his part craftsman.
For him to physically create the image is as important as creating by capturing said image.
His framing, the use of light, the highlighting of the subject: these are the strengths of this artist, on which many influential collectors have already acquired some of these works.
Georgii's work has been awarded Felix Schoeller Photo Award, Phodar Biennale, ParisMatch, HIPA, Young Photography Russia. His photographs are published in national and international magazines (ParisMatch, The Rolling Stones, The Where, The Overtime, LeMonde, Ouest France, etc). His work has been exhibited at festivals such as the 4th Biennial of Photography at the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, the Photofaculty 50 exhibition at the Karl Bulla Center, St. Petersburg, the exhibition "Struggles against discrimination, here and elsewhere", Lyon...
Other exhibitions to come at the start of 2023.
