Gayane Karapetyan (Gaya)
Gaya is an award-winning international contemporary abstract artist from Toronto. A recipient of numerous art awards and an author of several art publications, Gaya exhibits in Americas, Europe and Asia. Her abstract paintings are proudly held in a number of private collections.
During her prominent artistic career, Gaya has succeeded in many of her endeavors. She is a Featured Artist with Manhattan Arts International and Winner of the Great Art UK Runner-Up Award at Lacey Summer Art Prize in London. Gaya is a recipient of Biancoscuro Art Contest and Art Parma 2016 Winner Awards, Artprotagonist 2015 Award and the First Place Winner in CAGO Abstracts. Gaya’s achievements record spans from Artmajeur Gold Awards 2015 and 2014 to being the Finalist of prestigious art competitions Donkey Art Prize, Venezia Open Art and Lacey Contemporary in 2015. Moreover, Gaya’s works have been published in Art Compass 2016 by Himmelblau, Volume IX of International Contemporary Artists. The artist is remarkably featured in Aesthetica Magazine and the April 2016 issue of Women in Art 278.
Gaya actively exhibits in Canada and abroad. Gaya’s works showcase in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, UK, Japan, Colombia and the United States. Heaven on Earth Exhibition in Toronto – Great news for my Art Lovers!
I am glad to share the news about my upcoming group exhibition in Artusiasm Gallery in Toronto. Heaven on Earth exhibition embraces landscapes, seascapes, nature, gardens, flowers and “happy” abstracts. Any art that the artists see as a “Heaven on Earth”. The visitors will have a chance to explore outstanding works by a group of talented contemporary artists, well known and active in Toronto art scene.
I present four of my abstract paintings, including the signature floral artworks and my latest large abstract utopia landscape Eternity with philosophical context.
The exhibition is masterfully curated by Artusiasm Gallery and wonderful artistic alliance and collaboration of Tanzina Amin and Carlos Rodrigues.

I am glad to share that my four paintings participate in a group exhibition World Wide art Show New York 2017 in Caelum Gallery in Manhattan. Premio Ligures International Art Exhibition – Great news for my Art Lovers!
I am glad to share that I will be participating with two of my artworks, City Mix in Neons and Echoes, in the Ligures Prize International Art Exhibition in a beautiful city of Lerici in Italian Riviera. The exhibition opens on Saturday, March 11, 2017 in the Halls Exhibition of the 12th century famous Saint George Castle in Lerici and is available for visitors for more than two weeks. The Award Ceremony takes place in the Castle on Sunday, March 26, 2017, at 11:00 am, before the city authorities and numerous guests.
The event is organized by cultural association Verum Arte e Cultura with curatorial leadership by Mauro Giampieri. The overall event is supported and sponsored by the city council of Lerici.
Canvas Unbound 2017 Exhibition in Vancouver

I am glad to share that my artwork Otherness is selected for an annual juried exhibition Canvas Unbound held by the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA). The exhibition will take place in Vancouver from February 14 to 26, 2017.
Canvas Unbound releases art from the canvas and extends it out to the real world! The notion of this exhibition is to prove that and demonstrate that for certain works a frame limits visual perception of the substance and form of the artwork which continues beyond the boundaries of a frame and gets absolved into an ambiance of the real things surrounding the painting. The exhibition is juried by a distinguished member panel of FCA: Jutta Kaiser, SFCA, Patricia Peacock, SFCA, and Gale More, AFCA.

Calvendo Calendars
Calvendo was launched in in Germany in 2012 as a subsidiary of Cornelsen Publishing Group, one of the biggest publishers in German-speaking countries. Since then, tens of thousands of calendars created by photographers and artists have been sold. In 2014, the platform launched in the UK and France, increasing its calendar portfolio and setting up an interface with online retailers such as Amazon or Bookdepository in these countries.

A lot of things have been happening through October and I would like to provide a quick update about some of the art events and activities that I have been undertaking during this month. This includes the information which is not covered separately in any of my previous blog posts.

I am glad to share great news that my artworks have been nominated for the prestigious annual Palm Art Award 2016.
Palm Art Award is granted to artists of all visual media, such as painting, graphic art, digital art, photography and sculpture. The juried art competition seeks to attract in particular artists complying with or even redefining standards of art excellence. Art Domain Group has been yearly bestowing the highly valued Palm Art Award since 2003 which serves as a stepping stone to an enhanced level of artist careers.
FEATURED ARTICLE BY MANHATTAN ARTS INTERNATIONAL
The well known art consultancy Manhattan Arts International has come forward with a wonderful article featuring outstanding Canadian artists.
Since 1983 Manhattan Arts International has been implementing curated art programs to promote artistic excellence by artists from around the world. In this article the renowned art curator, consultant and publisher Renee Phillips (Thank You Renee) features outstanding Canadian Artists from the MAI membership – Elaine Hunter, Gaya, Chantal Leblanc, Joanne St-Cyr and Frantisek Strouhal. As it rightfully mentions, although the artists come from the same country they each claim their own creative terrain.
I am pleased and honoured to be part of this essential publication.
Manhattan Art International Canadian Artists
The Art Management Berlin art agency and consultancy has announced the results of its inaugural Berliner Art Prize 2016 initiative. I am pleased to be among the artists who received the Honorable Mentions.
Art Management Berlin, is a publishing company which was established in 2015. It is specialized in art books’ publication and art prizes’ organization. The agency was founded by Gabriela Caranfil and David Kisielewski, both devoted in promoting art all over the world.
I am also glad to join the vibrant and thriving TorontoART community of talented Toronto artists.
Launched in 2013, TorontoART is an independent online hub that promotes Toronto art and artists by giving the public an easy-to-navigate portal into Toronto’s vibrant visual arts scene. It is true that many art lovers are interested in exploring local art but do not know where to start, and the art world can seem an intimidating place to those who are new to it. This is why, in addition to the list of artists and events, TorontoART publishes resources on all types of visual art, as well as art buying.

Art Innsbruck December 2016 Fair

Art Innsbruck International Fair for Contemporary Art and Antiques in December 2016 – Great news for my Art Lovers!
I am happy to share that my abstract artwork Innocence will be exhibiting during the Art Innsbruck 21 Edition Fair in December 2016 as part of the Biancoscuro art exposition program. 90 exhibitors from 10 countries present highlights from their respective repertoires for a period of four days right before the Holiday Season. Paintings, original graphics, sculptures, photography, new media as well as antique glass, porcelain and many other treasures.
The long-awaited premiere for all art lovers and friends of the Art Innsbruck 2016. For the twenty-first time of its existence, the Art Innsbruck, the international fair for contemporary art and antiques, will take place on a new winter date and will thus become the largest Christmas fair of the art realm in the entire region. For the first time, the fair will also offer a “Long Evening of Art” on Friday, 2 December 2016. On this special evening, Art Innsbruck will be open until 11 pm in order to offer a chance to all art lovers to stroll unhurriedly and at leisure through the art fair and browse as many art exhibits as possible.
This remarkable event has become possible through my artistic collaboration with Biancoscuro Cultural Association led by renowned curator and art expert Vincenzo Chetta.

BOLD Expressions Group Exhibition in Toronto – Great news for my Art Lovers!
I am glad to share the news about my most recent group exhibition in the Super Wonder Gallery in Toronto. I presented three of my “utopia series” abstract paintings. The exhibition was masterfully curated by ARTusiasm, a wonderful artistic alliance / collaboration of Tanzina Amin and Carlos Rodrigues.
BOLD Expressions was a group art exhibition showcasing the works of over 80 visual artists. A variety of media had been included in this event: paintings, photography, drawings and sculptures. Artists expressed their creativity through one of the following four categories of Bold Expressions:

Bold Colours
Bold Gestures
Bold Forms
There was an excellent collection of contemporary art from artists of all levels, both untapped emerging artists as well as established professional artists. A great opportunity for art enthusiasts to meet local artists, original bold art, live entertainment, bites and beverages. A must-see for art collectors and buyers, as there was something to suit every taste and budget. Two Gala Receptions on November 4 and 5 were a tremendous success with many art lovers who visited the gallery, met the artists and enjoyed art conversations.

In early October, Parma becomes the centre of arts with its traditional Art Parma Fair dedicated to modern and contemporary art. Art Parma Fair is widely recognized and it is rightfully placed among the most important art fairs in Italy. This remarkable event has become possible through my artistic collaboration with Biancoscuro Cultural Association led by renowned curator and art expert Vincenzo Chetta.
Bright Lights at Night

Bright Lights at Night – Great news for my Art Lovers!
As part of the Toronto Nuit Blanche 2016 festival, my work White Energy of Night will be exhibited in the Red Head Gallery’s special annual salon show Bright Lights at Night. The exhibition begins on September 28 at noon, and culminates with Nuit Blanche on October 1, ending early in the morning of October 2.
Artists from across Canada and the United States will be presenting their works. This always unique, always surprising group show is not to be missed. The theme of Bright Lights at Night has been openly interpreted by the artists. Bright Lights at Night is a physical, cultural, and psychological state that favours the melancholic as easily as the ecstatic.
Each Nuit Blanche, thousands of visitors come through the Red Head Gallery and other galleries and art centres in this hub of contemporary art activity, hosting numerous interactive and immersive projects all under one roof. Installations will include photography, painting, sculpture, video/film, interactive activities, and performances.
