Artist, born and living in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, who has lived in St Louis, MO, USA between 2004 and 2010. Worked at The Saint Louis Art Museum at this time. Became Bulgarian-American citizen in 2009.
She works in the fields of Drawing, Graphics, Printmaking, Book Illustration, Painting, Sculpture, Non-conventional Forms, Photography, Video, Art Education and Iconography.
Private student (1982 - 1991) of the Artist Mincho Panayotov. Graduate from the Tzanko Lavrenov High School of Fine Arts in Plovdiv (1989) and the National Academy of Arts – Sofia, Bulgaria (MFA 1996), Paissiy Hilllendarsky Plovdiv University (Master of Theology 2019) .
Art Teacher at different public Schools in Bulgaria, including The National High School of Stage and Screen Arts in Plovdiv for five years between 1998 and 2003. She has worked as a Gallery Attendant and Freelance Art Educator at the St Louis Art Museum (2004 -2010).
Galina has 14 Solo Exhibitions in Bulgaria and 8 in the USA. She has participated in more than 150 Joint Exhibitions in Bulgaria, the UK, the USA, France, Macedonia and Serbia.
Galina is a Member of the UBA – Union of Bulgarian Artists (since 2020), Bulgarian Iconography Association (since 2020), Plovdiv Artists Union (1998 – present), the Artist Fellowship ‘’26-5” (1998 – present), the St Louis Artist Guild (2007- 2010), Art St Louis (2005 – 2010), The Plovdiv University ‘’Paissiy Hillendarsky” Students Iconology and Iconography Club and Studio, where she is a person in charge (2015 – present).
Her works are in private and public collections in Bulgaria, Germany, Switzerland, USA, England, Serbia, Macedonia, Ukraine, Australia, Russia, China and Japan. in 2012 her microphoto images has been included in a major Photography exhibition in the Louvre, France.
