L’accordeoniste Painting by Thierry Ligismond

Here is an extraordinary artist. A clear personality
and full of humanity. His works resemble him,
bright red. French origin, Thierry Leloup, name
artist Ligismond, traveled a lot and
painted a lot before settling down with his wife –
valaisanne – a year ago in the region. He lives
now Chermignon where he receives his friends and works
in Crans in his gallery-studio that he opened in the winter
last. A change of scenery guaranteed upon entry, the painter
prefers reds and blacks, the stage, the show,
the frank and tormented painting which recalls
sometimes the German Expressionists. A painting
figurative with sure features, numerous clowns with
elastic limbs, crazy musicians, portraits
with sharp humor and lots of bronzes.
This former restaurateur exhibits extensively in Geneva,
in neighboring France or in St-Tropez, in Valence or in
Shanghai. He is an unusual and generous epicurean.
So obviously, as he says, it’s not the
decoration that we choose according to the color of
his sofa. “You have to be determined when you hang on
one of my works on the wall!”, rejoices the artist. His
customers always come back, they know each other
them and share this same taste for a colorful life.
