Trees - a couple (2014) Painting by Denisa Kolarova (GaleriaGraphica)

My first experience with art dates back to my childhood. I admired the work of painters, especially Salvador Dali, and also works of Picasso, Kandinsky, Miro, Leger, Braque, Warhol, Pollock, and many others. The first deep emotional encounter happened in galleries of Amsterdam and south France. I was fascinated by paintings and the whole atmosphere of art galleries.
Professional experience happened few years later, at the private exhibition of two Slovak significant academic artists R. Fila and B. Votavova, where I was invited to join with my artwork. It happened at the mansion Slovakia in 2008 and since then I have been enjoying exhibiting my artworks (at both solo and group exhibitions).
Themes vary, although trees, figures and nature are always present in my works. I am all for life and everything that has life within, so the core messages is clearly visible from passion imprinted into canvases - the beauty of nature, the value of human relationships and - last but not least - truthfulness to oneself, one's soul, one's “inner god”.
I use all kinds of mediums, mainly acrylic and oil colors, often accompanied with pastels. I paint on canvas. My specific feature may be found in mixing the colors (directly on canvas) and creating more layers. What is important to my work is joy and fun while painting. Often I am driven to pick certain color first, see what it creates and following the imagination, fantasy, and my mood to form a message. And another time I see something that inspires me and I put on canvas immediately.
Since 2008 I have been exhibiting at home and abroad. In 2012, the jury of an international art fair in Italy awarded the title "Giovani Emergenti" to my artworks.
The live demonstration of my work was presented in 2013 at the Tricolors exhibition in Pune (India).
The paintings can be seen in the art studio in Bratislava, at the annual Salon of Artists and on both author and group exhibitions.
