Gabriela Azar Schreiner

Gabriela Azar Schreiner is an Argentinian born Australian painter based in Melbourne. Her colourful, large-scale abstract canvases are held in private and corporate collections in Australia as well as internationally.

Her compositions are instantly noticeable for their captivating colour palette and dynamic brushstrokes. Infused with unmistakable presence and energy, they light up every room in which they are displayed.

A self-taught artist, Gabriela embraces a passionate, intuitive approach to painting. Rather than subscribing to rigid techniques, she lets colours and emotions guide her creative process. The resulting paintings easily capture the imagination through whirlwinds of colour and rich texture: layers of soft plum and bright pink blend in with lush paint swirls to evoke a sense of uplifting joy, while other scenes shine through deep fuchsia and electric blue, suggesting worlds of intense emotions.

Gabriela views painting as sheer passion and feeling. Through her process she doesn’t seek to depict a set idea or subject, but instead lets scenes and dynamic movement emerge organically.
