Glossy finish

Sappho: MÖ 610-580. Lesbos’lu lirik şair. Antik Yunan edebiyatının en ünlü kadın şairidir, antik çağ yazarları onu ‘onuncu Musa’ şeklinde tanımlardı. Strabon onun için şöyle der: “Eski Çağa ait elimizde bulunan kayıtlara dayanarak, Sappho’yla şiir alanında en alt düzeyde bile yarışabilecek hiçbir kadının varlığını tanımıyorum.”
Gençliğinde soylu aileler arasındaki iktidar mücadelelerine karıştığı için bir süre adadan ayrılıp Sicilya’da sürgünde yaşamak zorunda kaldı. Fakat daha sonra tekrar Lesbos’a dönmüş ve hayatının çoğunu oradaki Mytilene kentinde geçirmiştir. Kerkylas adlı bir zenginle evlendiğini ve genç kızlar için bir okul kurduğunu biliyoruz. Aphrodite onuruna kurduğu bu okulda genç kızları evlilik çağına kadar yetiştirdi, müzik, dans ve şiir öğretti. Sappho’nun okulu adadaki tek okul değildi, Gorgo ve Andromeda adlı kadınların yönettiği rakip okulların da vardı. Aiol lehçesini kullanarak iki tip şiir yazmıştır. Bunlardan ilki düğün törenlerinde koro tarafından söylenen koro eserleridir. Bu şiirlerde damat yüceltilir, bir tanrıya benzetilir, gelin ise, kocası tarafından koparılacak olgun bir elmaya benzetilir. Diğer tip şiirleri çevresindeki kızlardan birine yönelen kişisel duygularını anlatır. Yaşadığı çağda Lidya Krallığı gücünün zirvesindeydi. Dolayısıyla Sappho’nun şiirlerinde geçen Lidya kelimesi güç, zenginlik ve lüks anlamındadır. Phaon adlı birine aşık olduğunu fakat aşkına karşılık göremeyince bir uçurumdan denize atlayarak intihar ettiğini anlatan hikaye tamamen kurmacadır. Antik çağda Sappho’nun itibarı büyüktü ve erken başlamıştı. Klasik dönemde ya gençlerin eğitmeni ya da yoldan çıkarıcısı olarak görüldü. Buna karşın İskenderiyeli bilginler onun eserlerinin tasnifine büyük çaba harcadılar, eserlerini dokuz kitapta topladılar. Latin şairlerden Catullus ve Horatius ondan etkilenenler arasındaydı.

In my business life, I turned to fashion design. In this regard, I worked as a designer, creative director and art consultant in domestic and international apparel companies.
In my professional life, I worked especially with watercolor, pencil drawing technique and various software.
I am still working on painting by combining my academic education with the designer background of many years. Ancient civilizations, cities, nature and abstract subjects, which are among the historical riches of our country, occupy an important place in my watercolor and charcoal painting works. The details together with the general harmony in the compositions attract my attention and are effective in my works.
I took part in various exhibitions and organizations with my works.
After the annoying pandemic process that affected us all, I started to participate in these organizations and exhibitions professionally again.
In my new period painting works, in addition to watercolor and pencil drawing techniques, I produce works with acrylic technique on canvas.
I also work on relief decorative ceramic products and various forms with ceramics.
