Cristian Faundes Nace en Temuco en 1977.
Desde niño muestra un talento innato para el dibujo y la pintura, destacándose en concursos estudiantiles a lo largo de su infancia y adolescencia. En 1997 entra a estudiar arquitectura en la universidad de Temuco pero es más fuerte la libertad creativa que le entrega su vocación por el arte. Al año de arquitectura deja la carrera y se traslada a Santiago, capital de Chile para estudiar arte en en la Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educación.
Actualmente tiene su atellier denominado TALLER 15 en pleno barrio Bellavista, centro cultural y bohemio de Santiago. Faundes: artista visual, pintor y realizador de video-arte y define su trabajo como parte de un proceso en desarrollo. Su obra en conjunto es ecléctica.
Los temas son diversos y experimenta con diferentes técnicas. La identidad de su trabajo la da su mirada particular y crítica de las cosas. Una ontología del hombre y la existencia, recorriendo desde la mancha gestual, la síntesis, el detalle y el color vibrante en el paisaje; pinturas oníricas y metafísicas; hasta un expresionismo crudo e irreverente. Podría hablarse de los alquimistas como metáfora de la constante tranfomación de la imagen y la forma en busca de una esencia oculta y a la vez latente en todas las cosas.
