Fanfan B. has been a visual artist and handyman of dolls since the 1980s. She uses dolls or figurines, transformed from existing or created toys, by sculpting, molding and assembling various materials.

These often hybrid creatures are then staged, then represented by photography, drawing or painting and all sorts of techniques.

This artistic world is made of toys but it raises adult questions, in an atmosphere which can sometimes be strange or disturbing but which hopes to be humorous. And behind the dreamlike or fanciful aspect of the images, appears a critical point of view on society and on our values.

Drawing and painting are part of a realistic figuration using chiaroscuro. However, the bright or tangy colors, the material effects, superpositions, or the use of collages, anchor these creations in a contemporary research.

The images produced are halfway between still life and genre scene. In these small scenes, the lighting and the posture of the figurines are studied in particular.

Paintings and photographs are impregnated with artistic references and condense images of the most diverse origins. The parody or the quotation, the association of varied even contradictory images, seem to be at the heart of these creations.

Fanfan B. has participated in numerous collective or individual exhibitions, mainly in New Aquitaine (France) for many years, while at the same time carrying out a professional activity (teacher of plastic arts). She has recently devoted herself entirely to her artistic activities.
