Carolina Kergall
I was born in Santiago de Chile in 1957.
Since my childhood my preferred leisure has been drawing.
I used to spend my pocket money to purchasing brushes, pencils, Indian ink, paper, etc.
At school, my artistic works were always exposed at the end of the year. Some caricatures of the teachers which "were confiscated", offered to me more smiles than punishments.
My art teacher gave me the opportunity to test different techniques and materials and encouraged me to follow drawing lessons.
When I was a teenager, I liked the human figure, drawn in black and white.
I drew Rodins’ and Berninis’ sculptures, but also the Seventies’ pop singers pictures.
When I was married, I came to live in Paris for a few years, and then I began to paint as autodidact with oil on canvas.
When I returned to Chile, I worked as interior designer and manufacturer of textile articles for home and in particular for children. Then I created evening and cocktail dresses..
At that time I did not have time for painting! I have been there for 26 years
I am living now in Belgium and since 2003 I have been regularly attending Roger Godart’s studio to learn the oil painting secrets.
I am used to paint subjects of my imagination in realistic style with many colours, as well as people and the Nature in general.
