What is the origin of the Ink technique?

Ink is a pasty or liquid tinted substance (dyes, dyes or pigments), widely used in printing as in art. Watercolor ink, wash (use of a single color that is diluted to obtain different intensities of tints), Indian ink, carbon black ink, sepia ...
