Biography
Elli Popa is a contemporary Romanian painter. Elli's artistic path was enriched by the opportunity to study at the Academy of Arts in Bucharest, where she had the privilege of learning under the guidance of renowned teachers and artists. Her artistic inception was profoundly influenced by the works of Vincent van Gogh, a master whose art left an indelible mark on her creative spirit. It was an encounter with Van Gogh's work, experienced in person at the Hermitage in Saint Petersburg, that ignited the flames of artistic fascination within her. This encounter with Van Gogh's genius served as the spark that set her on her own artistic journey.
As Elli's artistic journey unfolded, she found herself drawn to the work of other visionary artists who would shape her creative vision. The artistry of Gerhart Richter, Picasso, and Andy Warhol played an instrumental role in shaping her artistic maturity. Their influence permeates her work, infusing it with a captivating blend of styles and sensibilities.
In addition to her work as a painter, Elli Popa also harbored a deep-seated interest in scenography, particularly in the realms of theater and advertising. She devoted several years to these creative fields, passionately contributing her talents to the realms of visual storytelling and design. However, as her artistic path evolved, Elli's heart inevitably led her back to her first love—painting.
