Elizabeth Williams
Elizabeth Williams is a contemporary British painter based in Spain. After training at the City Lit in Holborn, London for a Fine Art degree, she paints in oils focusing on the on the sea and landscapes. Williams creates abstract expressionist/romantic impressionist oil paintings which reflect the elemental tone of the natural world. By the use of carefree brushstrokes or the palette knife Elizabeth's paintings are inspired by capturing clouds that hug you, rocks on a shore, or a crashing wave from a distant view point or rolling towards a shore line. She paints the weather, sea, light and wind with texture and energy.
Her work is richly textured in parts, combined with smooth blended glazes of brushwork, to suggest depth and movement. Striving to allow the paint to 'have a mind of its own' works well with her looser style, that the confines of realism can oppose, allowing her atmospheric and emotional pieces to come alive. Williams's work is mostly of seascape landscapes combined encompassing the weather in all seasons. Her paintings can vary specifically for commissioned works in large or small spaces and has been sold over the years both internationally and at home in Spain to clients and collectors of her work.

This gallery is all about flowers, whether gathered from the garden or photos on from my travels, or even more Waterlilies on a pond. Sometimes with gathered flowers I put them in a vase and paint as from a 'live' set up whilst others are just as they are - in a field or on the road side. We all love flowers - they brighten a dull day and lighten our spirit or just to be given to loved ones and friends.
All are painted in oils on canvas or wood panel, some are framed and some are not - you choose.

This series is of oil paintings on wood panel and framed in black 'floating' frames with a space all around the edge and ready to hang immediately.
Monochromes are usually depicted in one colour, and or in varying tones of one colour and all the hues in between. This can result in a very dramatic piece and suit a minimalistic wall. Elizabeth has in some cases added one colour to make a statement using her creative licence. All pieces are framed in black wood (floating) for added drama.

A series of lighthouses standing as sentinels towards the sea to the shores, in the early morning mists, capturing the iridescence of light in the haunting pale colours. These are usually large oil paintings on a deep sided canvases and always ready to hang. The deep profile is painted in a colour to tone and there is no need to frame.
The smooth brushwork glazes to the sky combine well with the rich texturing to the oceans. What makes this series is Elizabeth's work on the texturing which can clearly seen but is renedered self coloured, immediately suggesting a moving ocean of depth atmospheric and mystery.
The palettes are pale melanges of pastel colours to define and to enhance the misty and somewhat mysterious atmosphere with a rather Turneresque feel.

In this series Elizabeth's work has explored her love of the sea and weather within the boundaries, between what is felt and what is seen in windswept places. She paints a raging sea, with crashing waves with all their energy and combining the light and wind resulting somewhere between expressionist, abstract and sometimes slightly representational. All pieces are painted in oils on various sized larger canvases.

This series of the sea, usually with boats or a floating vessel, is portrayed with a gentle aspect of calmness and tranquillity. Exploring the boundaries between what is felt and what is perhaps not seen, but moving, as always between abstraction and representation, the following paintings of a romantically sublime aura, trying to message love, peace and security.
There is smooth brush work glazing combined with texturing to give a depth and gentle movement to the pieces. All are ready to hang.

This a new series inspired by sea in the ways it ebbs and flows, over obstacles and under them too, with the different colours that emerge with the shallows, depths, reflections and clarities. With combining deep texturing and smooth brushwork glazes, I have attempted to suggest movement and freedom of a piece. Always painted in oil on canvas or wood panel. I hope you will enjoy and let me know if a piece 'speaks' to you!

This selection of Seascapes are all painted in oils on box canvas. The paintings are all inspired by the wonderful stretches of coastline close by to my studio, including Sandbanks and Poole in Dorset and the many miles of sandy beaches. I spend winters in southern Spain where there is much inspiration and wonderful light along the coastline. Many of the paintings are created en plein air or from sketches and finished off in my studio. Please do not hesitate to contact me for more information. All my paintings are FREE of shipping charges within the country I am in at the time.

Dear Artist, I am not a painter of nature on this date .. I am really "seduced" by your touch of painter. Your galleries are superb.
A very feminine touch, the oil remains the noble material, and you have a beautiful mastery ... I like
