Elena Sharganova

In her projects based on archival materials and objects that preserve memories, Elena tries to capture the process of the passage of time. And also answer the question for yourself: is preserving memories necessary to maintain identity, is their reliability so important? Elena explores the habitat of modern man, historical and cultural memory encrypted in the plasticity of the city.

Sharganova works in various materials and techniques: textiles, painting, graphic materials, as well as ceramics. Her artworks  are in private collections in all the world.

"I am inspired by the Avant-Garde, painting of the 20-30s. I enjoy the atmospheric, elemental painting of Labas, Dufy, Drevin, Falk. I believe that the optimal possible development of art is the systematic organic flow of tradition from generation to generation, of course with a modern rethinking of art."
