Biografie
Ed Schaap is een hedendaagse kunstenaar die in Nederland geboren en woonachtig is. Hij is al zolang hij zich kan herinneren gepassioneerd door kunst, aanvankelijk met potloodtekeningen. In de loop van de tijd heeft hij verschillende technieken onder de knie gekregen, waaronder airbrush, acryl, olie en digitale kunst. Schaap haalt inspiratie uit het werk van HR Giger, maar heeft zijn eigen unieke stijl ontwikkeld, die wordt gekarakteriseerd als bizar en verontrustend.
Als moderne surrealistische kunstenaar put hij uit de complexiteit van het hedendaagse leven, maar ook uit mythen en legendes, en vermengt hij deze met zijn eigen visie. Dit creatieve proces resulteert in werken die een vervormd beeld van de realiteit schetsen, wat weerspiegelt wat hij ziet als de potentiële toekomst van een reeds vervormde wereld. Zijn stukken bevatten vaak een element van vervreemde vervorming, waardoor realisme en fantasie met elkaar verweven raken, wat een tot nadenken stemmende ervaring creëert voor kijkers.

In the world of dreams, creatures living in the skies are quite normal.One can find one's direction to listen to the stars but also to smell the wind directions.West, East, South, North, Underin and Aloft are the main cardinal directions.The others 18, such as, the present, yesterday, today, maybe tomorrow, etc., are less important.The first 6 are important, so they also have kings who rule the skies.When a thunderstorm strikes again, the ground creatures know that the kings are arguing again.

It is still a riddle where the dream world comes from. Angry tongues say that there are other beings and that they create the dream world in their sleep, just ridiculous, what nonsense.

My name is Ed Schaap and I was born and still live in the Netherlands.
I have always been an Artist as long as I can remember. At first I drew with a pencil but at this moment I’m very good using an airbrush, acrylic, oil and the computer. As you can see in my work I’m fascinated by the work of H.R giger, but over the Years I have created my own style with is at least to be called bizarre and disturbing.
I’m modern surrealist artist and now at this moment I get my inspiration for my work of the modern day of life, but also myth and legends and I give it my own vision. This results in very bizarre and disturbing works, a vision of what I thinks that may become of or (already distorted) world.
I always put in some kind of alienated distortion which will let that realism and fantasy running through each other.
