Great artwork and great colors!
--Jan van Baarle
Strong image...great use of white, which is a real eye grabber, almost looks like a reflective shine but then i realized it's part of the composition. Great!

Really Really Nice! The colours and the depth are fab.

Pretty strong contrast -- demands attention (and holds it quite well, too).
--Monica Moore
That play of color with the deep dark tones is superb!
--Chas Sinklier
Of all your images, this is my favorite. I am really pulled in by this one. I think the neutrals make the colors stand out more. and I really like your detailed handling of the neutrals... they're not just thrown on but carefully worked.

Eclectic. "No defined style is my style". That is what actually defines visual artist Ed DeGuzman’s creative output.
Edeguz, as he is fondly called by fellow artists, have been a painter all his life, and has been painting using any medium available, whether acrylic, watercolor, charcoal, pastel and lately with the computer, digitally.
It may seem that Edeguz works on his paintings like any other artists, with much obsession. The difference is that his ideas and inspirations come like a thief in the night and awaken him. “It just comes”, he says of the brilliant but inexplicable images he paints. It is as if the various elements in his psyche and the universe connive to let him graphically execute something that cannot be repeated in the exact way a second time. " I want to start my painting sessions without any notion of what will come out." He lets his brush and instinct control and guide him in producing something out of a blank canvass. This is what makes Edeguz’s work a masterpiece. Each is unique and has a story behind it.
Nudes are a recurring theme in his art. Edeguz creates images of women basking in their natural glory, tastefully done with the right interplay of light and shadow but faceless most of the time. "My nudes are the most personal work for me and i can't stop doing them." Proof of this statement is body of work devoted to nudes alone, He's done nudes with charcoal, graphite, pastel, acrylic, watercolor, guoache and even digitally. Ask why they are faceless - he states, " i want the viewe to feel the emotion, to appreciate at the overall image before him and not focus on the identity of the painting or worse to comment on the nose or eyes of the subject."
When it comes to digital painting versus traditional oil, Edeguz prefers the former because "oil is messy and takes a long time to dry and prepare. ”While both of these mediums can be retouched, digital painting is more challenging for him in the sense that he takes effort to show detailed strokes as if it was an actual brush used in rendering the image on the computer. "People would often ask if my digital paintings were really done in the computer with the mouse as my brush, because of the detailed brush strokes that looks like the real thing."
For now, there is no single subject Edeguz wants to be typecast in. His art is still evolving, allowing the free flow of ideas, enjoying the unhampered play of colors, textures, imagery and the recurring visit from his muse in the dead of night.
