Jean-Christophe Ditróy is a contemporary French painter. His deeply contemplative style offers the viewer atmospheres, materials where the mood wanders, free of any interpretation, without dwelling on the anecdote.

Based on a work of "scripted" coatings by zones alternately loaded with material, with a thick grain, hollowed out with reliefs and scratches in which the oil color will then come to aggregate, or, on the contrary, by much smoother spaces, conducive to the transparency of the glazes, his technique makes use of pure impasto or dripping, as well as the softest gradations and washes. A wide variety of processes give his canvases a changing appearance, animating them according to the lighting and the angle from which they are observed.
