Dibar Apartian Assadour, known as Dibasar, is a contemporary French artist born in Aleppo on May 4, 1971. From an early age, he pursued his passion for art as a student at the Sarian School of Fine Arts in Aleppo and later continued his training in the adult class at the Archile Gorky School. Following his secondary education, Dibasar studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Yerevan (Institute of Arts and Crafts) from 1991 to 1994.
Dibasar's artistic career began with his first exhibition in 1996 at the Armenian Cultural Center in Aleppo. He gained further recognition by participating in the winter 1997 exhibition fair of the Union of Artists of Syria, followed by an exhibition at the Salon des Arts Contemporains in Beirut that same year.
After moving to France, Dibasar's first exhibition took place at the Saint Mesrop Cultural Center in Paris in 2000. In January 2001, he was featured in the exhibition Regards sur l'Arménie Chrétienne as part of the 1700th anniversary celebrations.
His Armenian heritage and sensitivity are particularly evident in his work, notably in the painting La danse des paysannes (The Dance of the Peasant Women), which vividly captures traditional country costumes, vibrant colors, folklore, and dynamic movement.
