Gladis Desumvila, an Argentine visual artist, lives and works in Rosario, where she develops a rich and interdisciplinary artistic practice. Her work explores various mediums, from painting to sculpture, from installations to virtual supports, building a fascinating dialogue between tradition and modernity. Committed to a research approach, Gladis has traveled throughout Argentina, the Americas, Africa and India, documenting the symbolism of primitive cultures through videos, photographs and texts.
Her works are part of prestigious collections, including the Museo Juan B. Castagnino and the Museo Casa del Acuerdo in Argentina, as well as the Museum of Latin American Art in Poland, the United Nations in New York, and the Argentine Embassy in Nigeria. In 1999, she left her mark on the landscape of Rosario with Como el Río , an impressive 18-meter-high totem installed on the banks of the Paraná River. Through her exhibitions at international conferences and events, Gladis Desumvila shares with the world an artistic vision nourished by a deep connection to the cultures of the world.
