Photography by Otto Sarony 1901.
Evelyn Nesbit (born Florence Evelyn Nesbit, December 25, 1884 or 1885 – January 17, 1967) was an American artists' model, chorus girl, and actress. She is best known for her years as a young woman in New York City, particularly her involvement in a deadly love triangle between railroad scion Harry Kendall Thaw and architect Stanford White, which resulted in White's murder by Thaw in 1906.
In her day, Nesbit was a famous fashion model, being frequently photographed for mass circulation newspapers, magazine advertisements, souvenir items, and calendars. When in her early teens, she had begun working as an artist's model in Philadelphia. Nesbit continued after her family moved to New York, posing for legitimate artists including James Carroll Beckwith, Frederick S. Church, and notably Charles Dana Gibson, who idealized her as a "Gibson Girl". She was an artists' and fashion model when both fashion photography (as an advertising medium) and the pin-up (as an art genre) were beginning to expand. ...
Actress, Artist's model and Dancer. She was known as "the Girl in the Red Velvet Swing." Her husband, Harry Kendall Thaw, killed her lover, noted New York Architect Stanford White, and the story was made into a movie, "The Girl in the Red Velvet Swing" (1955), with actress Joan Collins playing her role. Her life was considered typical of the excesses of the Gilded Age before World War I. Born Florence Evelyn Nesbit, in Tarentum, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter and oldest child of a moderately wealthy and influential lawyer, Winfield Scott Nesbit. When her father died in 1893, leaving large debts, the family suddenly became destitute, and for years, the family lived in poverty. In 1900, when Evelyn turned 16, her copper colored hair and adolescent beauty became noticed by local artists, and she earned money for the family by posing as a model, soon becoming the family's sole breadwinner. To earn more money, in 1901 the family moved to New York City, where she would pose for noted artists of the time, including painters Charles Dana Gibson and Frederick Church, and photographer Rudolf Eickemeyer. Gibson supposedly used her to illustrate his famous Gibson Girl paintings....

Welcome to my Artmajeur fine art gallery!
I am a fine art photographer, photo editor-retoucher and photo restorator and colorist from Serbia with years of experience. I mostly do landscape photography but also other genres of photography and I love to photograph all those beautiful scenes that are worth saving forever.
I started doing fine art photography when I was very young. But I can say that I have been actively and more seriously engaged for the last 25 years, maybe even more. I acquired my education through various professional literature, as well as through online courses and tutorials. however, I mainly acquired my skills through many years of practice, learning during creating, and hard work. I found inspiration in the artworks of great masters of painting and photography. I am still trying to improve myself even more and learn something new. My works can be found in several world-famous online galleries and I have also exhibited my works in art galleries and exhibitions in the country.
Here you can buy my artwork prints: fine art prints, canvas prints, metal prints, framed prints that will decorate your home and all of that in the best possible print quality. All you see here are my original artworks, so I do not resale any stock images.
What makes me happiest is when I see that people really like my work and want it hanging on their walls. That makes me work harder and create even more nice artworks. I hope you will like some of my images.
Enjoy.
