Recently exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy Annual Exhibition (2024), and the Royal Academy in London Summer Exhibition (2023). Represented by The Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh. I trained at Liverpool and Winchester Schools of art in the 1970's, and specialise in watercolours and figurative sculpture. My reputation was made in my native Scotland with powerful works such as Nelson Mandela, commissioned by Glasgow City Chambers, and Robert Burns, commissioned by the co-editor of the Burns Encyclopedia.
With work in public and private collections in the US and France and Scotland, several of my pieces are in the University of Edinburgh collection and I have built up a reputation for true human expressiveness in my work. What makes my sculpture special is that most artists make work for you to look at, whereas my work looks back at you.
Drawing underpins all my work, and I make pen, pencil and watercolour sketches of people and places wherever I travels.
