Ilgvars Zalans ist ein zeitgenössischer lettischer Maler. Zalans ist einer der einflussreichsten expressionistischen Maler Nordeuropas. Zalans verwendet in seinen Kunstwerken lieber grundlegende, archetypische und universelle Themen und Motive als solche, die von der Gesellschaft beeinflusst werden.
