Carolyn Dakin

My art is inspired by the beautiful South Island wilderness area, where I live.  I have long been captivated by the observant pause of seeing the world through a camera lens, and the creative expansion of digital artistry has allowed me to make more painterly images. As a digital artist, I combine my photographs and other elements to create stories and whimsical pieces about animals and the natural world. I am grateful to be a member of the international Awake group of digital artists, and to have my work on exhibition at the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts and published online in the "Living the photo-artistic life" magazine. I was also honoured to receive a Special Merit in the 9th Annual Nature art exhibition in 2019 by Light Space Time.
