ABOUT MY PAINTING-----BIOGRAPHY------CURRICULUM
Cristina Vidal - self-photo (26/9/06)
WHEN I AM IN FRONT OF THE CANVAS, A CHALLENGE ALWAYS OCCURS IN ME BETWEEN MY UNCONSCIOUS AND MY REASON: THAT OF BRINGING BACK TO LIFE A FACT THAT HAS BEEN LIVED, REMEMBERED, HEARD OR SEEN; AT THAT MOMENT, IN THAT NOW OR NEVER, IS WHEN I PAINT WHAT I WAS GENERATING WITHIN MY BEING, FOR A TIME WITHOUT LIMITS... My intention is to transmit the essence of all things, that first emotion, that primitive vision that often appears deformed by the time elapsed and the inner elaboration, but that at the moment of painting, goes beyond forms and colors……
“Without intending to contradict the authoritative opinion of the thinker, Cristina Vidal paints the things that are seen but that she also feels. And it is worth affirming it because only being a participant in the world that surrounds her allows her to legitimately address a theme integrated with man and his circumstances.
Not for that reason does she dismiss the rules that belong to painting... It happens that the color and the forms to which she resorts, comprise a vocabulary coherent with her personality, expressing her thought with total independence, rejecting all submission to any conventional norm, ours painter (to be more explicit) in her work she is direct, she says things with passion, sometimes with a heartbreaking accent, perhaps pathetic, because Cristina does not invent the paintings, reality appears before her sensitive eyes of a deeply human being.

Luján, December 10, 1988: "The Ernesto Mario Barreda Cultural Center closed the 1988 cycle with an exhibition of paintings by Cristina Vidal, an event attended by municipal officials and representatives of local institutions. The opening remarks were made by the President of the Entity: Dulce Pereyra Degregorio, who referred to the exhibitor's background, giving a summary of her curriculum and highlighting that she has been painting for twenty years, and this is the first time she has exhibited individually.
El Civismo-(Luján newspaper) June 18, 1990: “Cristina Vidal is an artist who has been gaining ground in exhibitions in our environment and beyond. Her works are endowed with a vibrant palette brimming with intentions, which serves as a framework for a diverse theme to which Vidal resorts to testify her presence in art. Her language, through hard work and accurate evolution, is more refined today, keeping intact all the dynamics of form and color, which distinguish her compositions. The collection of works that the viewer can appreciate in the Aime Room (Fernán Félix de Amador Museum of Fine Arts in Luján - Pci...
