"For me, painting is a way to express thoughts, feelings, ideas and emotions.  With many of my works I try to tell a story thru the piece itself.  It may be in the subjects' eyes or the brush strokes or even the colors I use.  Many times I use art as a way to highlight a particular person or event in history.  I look for the personality within the subject and try and find a way to express it visually. For me, Painting can challenge, frustrate and empower all at the same time. I want emotion and curiosity to play apart when someone views my work.
