“art made simple”. This little sentence expresses exactly what I feel when I paint. No shell, nor superfluous; I am me and only me facing my canvas. Above all, I don't want to change this way of seeing things; you have to stay humble to continue to evolve and I still have a lot to learn...
I paint in oil and acrylic.
As far as my artistic motivations are concerned, they have largely evolved: I first started with the figurative, orienting myself more towards Provençal landscapes or by painting simple scenes of life. At that time, I had the idea of making trompe l'oeil effects by painting false frames and then I “fell” (that's really the word) into the abstract when I became a mother. As if the birth of my daughter had caused a click…!
Impossible today to lock up my paintings, they have to breathe on the contrary! Let them live! Freedom must spring from it. When I discovered the abstract, I took it as a revelation: impossible to stop, as if my hand was painting without my guiding it! I take it as an evolution.
I work a lot on emotion; I try to transmit the values and the feelings which animate me but always in the joy. I can't paint if I'm depressed. Color is essential to me, it must be cheerful, dazzling, full of life and light.
It's like in my life: if the color is there everything is fine! Sadness and monotony have no place in my house.
And since I feel a bit like a child when I paint: in addition to abstract paintings, I also address children, always in my aerial style.
I like to play with contrasts, materials. I want to transmit my passion when I paint, this freedom, to be able to create, to imagine. There is neither limit nor constraint in painting and in addition it is when you want where you want. It totally matches my personality. I never tire.
