Clothilde Bertin Lalande is a self-taught author photographer from the southwest of France. She has been practicing photography for fifteen years. At the same time, she studied literature, trained as a pharmacy preparer and then scientific studies after which she obtained a doctorate in microbiology. After living in Japan for 3 years, she has been living in Angoulême since 2017. Her portrait work was noticed and elected jury choice in the self-portrait category by fashion photographer Rankin and Caroline Hunter, photo editor and iconographer at The Guardian newspaper. , during his participation in the "Rankin's 2020" project broadcast on the British channel Sky Arts.
In search of her deep identity, she paces that of others and watches for their traces as if to freeze the time that ticks away tirelessly. With her portrait and nude photography, she shares her relationship to femininity, her vision of intimacy and her commitments. Time, chance and memory are the engines of her work, which is why she chose to favor film and old processes from shooting to printing. His multiple inspirations are drawn, among others, from surrealism, punk, minimalism or even certain trends in fashion.
