neo expressionist

Claude Morini was born on October 3, 1939 in Limoges.

1940 - 56: As a child, he rubs shoulders with painting and in particular that of his maternal grandfather, Hungarian impressionist painter, Edmund Pick dit Morino. His artist name will inspire him with his own pseudonym.
He received a Christian education and got involved very early in many charitable actions.

1957 - 58: After an adolescence that was not very focused on studies, he entered painting and went to Paris at the age of 17 to follow a training course. This departure forces him to abandon the elderly people he takes care of and is not without causing him problems...

1959: He spends a year at the Penninghen workshop and then leaves the capital to settle in the monastery of Cimiez in Nice. There he met his uncle, both a painter and a monk, who accompanied him everywhere to paint... He spent a few months at the Arts Déco in Nice but mainly practiced ceramics in Vallauris.
It was that same year that he met Monique Beaugrand, his future wife, as part of the charity work to which he devoted himself again...

1960 - 62: At the beginning of 1960, he was in Brive for military service, then, from 1961, he was called to Algeria. This period without painting, marked by war and separation, announces illness. He was repatriated at the end of 1961 and hospitalized in Val de Grâce where he was treated for hepatitis but also depression. Finally, final demobilization in March 1962. He moved to Vallauris and married Monique in July.
From this date, he will mainly concern himself with painting and exhibiting.

1963 - 66: Birth of his first son whom he will call François because of his admiration for “the poor boy” of Assisi. Paints, paints, paints and begins to participate in numerous exhibitions; he receives the U.M.A.M. in 1965. We feel in his work all the admiration he has for Georges Braque but also for Nicolas de Staël. In 1966, Marielle, his only daughter, was born, while Antoine, his youngest son, was born three years later.

1967 - 1975: Alongside oil painting, he develops a particular technique: aluchromy. Its decorative dimension offers it real outlets in architecture. But quickly, he felt that the aluchromy overshadowed his status as a painter. Also, he reduces formats, integrates characters, inscribes his themes on aluminum and exhibits his creations in galleries.

1976 - 1978: He resolutely puts the emphasis back on oil painting and devotes himself to gouache. He exhibits everywhere in France as well as in Switzerland. The hyper activity and the successive disappearance of many friends lead him straight to a strong depression.

1979 - 1982: After a rather long convalescence, he gradually gets back to work thanks to the engraving to which he has always been sensitive. He tries it and very quickly devotes a lot of time to it. He considers her...
